During a stop off to restock Moya's food supplies the crew discover that Scorpius has planted wanted beacons there, and presumably everywhere else they are likely to go. In an attempt to remain hidden the crew invite T'raltixx, a blind alien, aboard because he claims he has technology that can render Moya invisible. He demonstrates it successfully on Crichton's module but says they will have to take Moya to his base to install the equipment on her. On the way he warns that the light from a pulsar they must pass sometimes effects 'lesser species'... inevitably it is soon effecting the crew. They start to grow paranoid; distrusting the others and even shooting at each other... strangely as they move away from the pulsar the effects continue to increase... and T'raltixx appears to be doing something suspicious with Moya.
This was a fine episode; director Ian Watson did a fine job capturing the crew's increasing paranoia; the way the camera constantly rolled might not have been original but it was quite effective. T'raltixx may have been the villain but the crew's distrust for each other and their irrational behaviour was far more disturbing. There are a few good laughs thrown in to lighten the mood; I particularly liked Aeryn's threat, 'You'll be a croûton, Crichton'! and the look Crichton must adopt when he finally confronts T'raltixx is priceless.
