Sister Bertrille finds a pelican at the beach that has hurt its leg. She names it Irvin and bandages it up before she flies back to the convent where the nuns are meeting Father Sweeney (character actor Harold Gould). He is administrator of the newly merged collegiate co-ed St. Bernard and St. Boniface. The father is interviewing Reverend Mother Placido to be dean of women over hundreds of girls and will observe her over the next few days. Meanwhile, Irving has followed Sister Bertrille to the convent where he has fallen in love with what he thinks is another bird. When the pelican interferes with the convent, Sister Bertrille is forced to tell the bird it must leave. Irving now is sick with Dr. Leonard (Nate Esformes) saying he will die unless something can be done to pick its spirits up. When the reverend mother comes up with an idea will it positively or negatively impact her candidacy for dean?
A silly premise in a series with a silly premise, but there's a swift flow here and a nice, good-feeling message at the ending.
