Lisa beats a crooked Iron Claw machine

Warning: Spoilers
Despite the title, Eb is nowhere to be seen. Oliver awakens to find a note in Eb's room saying that he has eloped and is going on a honeymoon to Niagara Falls, then New York City, then on to other far away places-as long as his $130 holds out. Oliver opines that he'll be lucky to make it to Niagara Falls.

Eb also wrote that he has arranged for his cousin Walter to take his place on the farm. But when Walter shows up, we learn he is a bartender who's never worked on a farm. Oliver will give him a try anyhow and takes him to Drucker's to get some proper clothes.

Walter can identify everyone he meets at the store by the drink they used to regularly order at the Stankwell Falls Cocktail Lounge. My favorite was Hank Kimball's drink-Scotch and goat's milk-which caused Oliver to say, "Yucchh!" It was funny when Walter described the bar's specialty-the Stankwell Falls Fizz, consisting of two parts apple jack, two parts vermouth, a jigger of maple syrup, and a prune. Of course, Lisa knows the same drink but with another name.

Walter is a dud at farm work-removing all the corn stalks and leaving the weeds, then driving the tractor wildly through fences and into someone's living room.

Of course, everyone in town thinks Oliver was smart to give up farming and open a cocktail lounge. Haney even hangs a sign over the front door of the Douglas house saying so. But my favorite scene, just about all time for this series, was when Haney tries to sell Oliver bar equipment, including a non-skid bar so customers won't have their elbows slide and fall on their faces. One of the running jokes was about Walter losing his job because authorities found out about how the owner (not Walter) was cheating with his iron claw machine, gluing down all the valuable items so all you could pick up was some stale candy.

Haney's got an iron claw machine that Lisa plays while Oliver listens to Haney's sales pitches. When Lisa is able to get the claw to pick up something of value, Haney tells Oliver, "Mr. Douglas, I think your wife is cheating. I know I had that glued down." A bit later, Haney mentions a liquor license and Oliver says he doesn't have one. Haney gets squeaky high saying, "You don't have a liquor license?!" Right away we hear Lisa, as she pulls out an item from the machine, "Oliver, do you want a liquor license?"

I have long remembered laughing heartily at most of this episode. It was as good as it gets, an easy 10.
