A Fake Furry Situation
HilaryElizabeth926 March 2009
This one was interesting. To me, it seemed to say more about what was going on with Stefanie Powers than what was going on with Jennifer Hart. I would bet that this one was filmed sometime shortly after William Holden died. He was Stefanie's partner for many years before he died, and a large part of his estate was used to create the William Holden Wildlife Foundation. And this is the second episode in a row that they made a reference to wildlife conservation. In this one, Jennifer is a spokesmodel for a line of fake furs, and once again, wildlife conservation is put on particular display. Holden died in 1981, and the timing of this episode and the one before it is probably more than coincidental. As for the story, interesting performance from the late Carrie Nye. At times, great; at most others, I just wanted to crawl under my desk in embarrassment for her. Stereotypical old Hollywood Diva -- only awful. Now, she was 45 at the time this one was filmed, and while she looked a lot older than that to me, on the other hand she looked amazing in an itty bitty bikini, so that's really sayin' somethin'. I enjoyed this episode, mainly because I am a big fan animal lover, and I loved what this episode was saying about conservation even back then; also because I really loved watching for tangible evidence in performances that speak to what is going on in the performer's real life.

Fake Furry Fun
sambase-387738 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This one was kind of goofy, but fun. Some dude was killing women in fur coats. No, he wasn't the one wearing the fur coat, it was the women. Some new line of fake furs if you get my drift. Jennifer Hart signs a contract to model the fur coats and they take her photos. I thought the pictures looked more like Playboy photos than advertisements for coats so that part was kind of weird to me.

So a couple women get killed. Then they believe that Jennifer Hart will be the next victim. The police call and tell her to stay home and not go outside. Now this is the part where I got totally bewildered. Right after that Jonathan Hart says he's going to leave the house and go talk to some guy. If your wife was next on the killer's list would you leave her? No way. You would stay right there and make sure you had all your guns handy and loaded. You would not leave. So that part was completely absurd. But that's what the writer wrote. Ouch.

Anyway, the killer does show up and tries to kill her, but doesn't succeed. Happy ending.

Now here is the unhappy part. In this episode a delivery boy is played by an actor named Reid Rondell. I knew nothing about him so I looked him up and he died a few years later at age 22 in a helicopter crash. Very sad.

A furry situation
coltras3510 June 2022
Troubling and unexplained murders plague women who are modeling for a synthetic fur coat campaign and Jennifer is the next victim. Monte Markham plays the murderer dubbed as "The White Fury Killer" who begins to stalk her and now the Harts race to find out who he is and stop him before he can succeed. The big question I found myself asking during this good episode is why is he killing women wearing synthetic fur coats? Is it because he prefers women to wear real fur? Is it because his mother wore it and a trauma connecting to it turns him into a psycho? Or is there an another grand scheme? I must say I was quite taken back by the reasons behind the killings. It's a good entry, though Evelyn Carney hams it a little too much as a Hollywood-type diva.
