A little bit better than episode one, but just a bit...
planktonrules3 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
By the end of episode 1, the police had apprehended the crazy doctor. However, the man had apparently hidden a deadly bacteria and he won't tell the police where it is….but he will tell them that within the day it will be unleashed and all life on the island will be destroyed to show people that they need to stop playing with such deadly weapons. So, the guy is going to murder ¾ of a million people because he's against violence and loves humanity….is it just me, or does this sound pretty crazy?! With Dr. Klein continuing to refuse to divulge where the serum is hidden, the police try a variety of ways to get him to talk. His lady friend (Loretta Switt) is unable to convince him, nor is a top government expert on interrogation and so-called "truth drugs". So, throughout much of the show it appears that Hawaii is majorly screwed. How all this works out is something you'll need to see for yourself, but it's hardly surprising that by the end the island is saved…thanks to McGarrett and a bit of luck.

This episode is a little better than the last because at least it didn't have as much of the weird relationship with the Doctor and lady—a major shortcoming of Part One, as it never made much sense. But, unfortunately, much of this episode STILL didn't make a lot of sense—especially the reactions of the Doctor's lady. Why she would want to stay and die with a man she hardly knew was beyond me.

By the way, in the scene with the surfer who found the vial, pay attention to the vial for a big mistake. That's because the amount of toxin in the vial increases and decreases and increases in the same scene!

Could have been great but the character, Wanda Russell, ruins it

Warning: Spoilers
This really would have been a 10/10 two-parter but Wanda Russell completely ruins it. She is unbearable and, quite honestly, insane. She falls madly in love with a man she's spent about a total of 2 hours with and during that time he did nothing but sweat, speak cryptically and throw her into the ocean. She also couldn't care less he's going to possibly wipe out the human race. No one can be that crazy, right?
