There is an explosion at a subway station. Anne heads into the area and gets trapped. To make matters worse she goes into labor. As Duncan and Richie go to rescue Anne, Duncan has a flashback of being trapped in a building with his girlfriend during The Blitz in WWII.
I know a lot of people complained about pregnant Anne going into the building and Diane endangering herself in WWII. Their complaints are probably right. But the characters only do what the writer wrote for them. I guess HE thought this was a good premise. Just saying.
They should have written Anne already in the subway for some sort of reason when the explosion happened. Instead, they made her and her partner look like complete idiots rushing into the dangerous building. I mean the whole scenario was dumb, that they would even do it. Also, rescue workers were pulling people out of the building that could have used her medical attention. The reason you're not supposed to do things like this is that you endanger not only yourself, but the rescue workers that now have to come and rescue you.
As for Diane, I didn't find this her fault. She did try and go to safety. I thought her speech on the radio was melodramatic. The actress' delivery overall in the episodes is kind of bland. As for the Blitz, I say that everyone should watch as as many documentaries as possible about WWII. It's fascinating, and we should never forget what happened in the past. Not just the war itself, but how it reached that place in the first place. There are some good docs on Netflix. You should check them out.
Too bad Duncan didn't have his sword with him. Maybe it would have helped him to dig his way out in the flashback.
Duncan's comforting Diana as she died in his arms was touching as he told her about Colorado. I guess Duncan was in love with her? Well, like I said before he's been in love like a million times.
So he gave the house he was remodeling to Anne. I guess a fitting sendoff for that character as this was her last episode. I gave the episode a 7/10.
