A Chinese pirate has committed a daring theft of some plutonium being transported on a plane.
It requires knowledge of flying an aircraft and airstrips used during the second world war. It seems similar thefts have been carried some years earlier.
Inspector Duval goes to Hong Kong to investigate. Next time the pirate might crash the plane with the passengers in it. Then it will be mass murder.
Duval suspects that the criminal is one step ahead and is not even Chinese.
In fact it is a European working with the Hong Kong police. Duval needs to trap the culprit who finds going to Macau is no use. Portugal has also signed up to Interpol.
