This particular Jefferson's story has always given me chills! Lionel and Jenny's home is burglarized and the thought of not being able to protect his home from intruders forces George to purchase an illegal gun.

Louise takes Jenny and granddaughter Jessica out shopping to replace the items that were stolen from their home such as glassware(?) and other kitchen items; what sort of burglar stops off to lift dishes? Instead of lugging the items to Jenny's apartment, they bring the unwrapped items back to the Jefferson's apartment. While the Jefferson women head into the kitchen with the purchases, George assumes that he has safety hidden the gun but unbeknownst to him, the gun falls onto the couch in plain sight.

The Jefferson's granddaughter toddles into the living while the adults are in the kitchen and finds the gun on the couch. She then goes behind the couch and pulls the trigger of the gun causing the adults to rush into the living room. It's mentioned that the child isn't hurt but was frightened by the loud sound of the gun. This is a great episode that speaks about gun control and what an unsupervised gun can do in a home with children.
