one of the ultimate Kojakisms
mollyshearergabel12 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Most episodes contain a variety of Kojakisms that are only remembered by die hard Kojak fans. This one, however, showed Kojak as an impromptu poet staring down John P. Ryan and uttering what was really the only Kojakism in the episode, one which frequently turns up as a disjointed snippet on radio and television station identification:

"If you come

near me,

or my family

I'll scatter your brains

from here to White Plains"

In the case of the show Kojak, there should be a "quotes" section for each episode. Kojakisms deserve cataloging and preservation.

You can call this episode "Kojak's Big Fat Greek Wedding".

This one gets personal
bkoganbing2 April 2016
John P. Ryan as a recently released convict dominates this particular Kojak episode. He plays a mean, but coolly controlled individual who believes fervently that revenge is a dish best served cold. Not only does he have it in for Telly Savalas, but he wants to go after a cop's family as well.

The strain tells on Telly Savalas as Lt. Kojak takes it out on his family and the squad. So much so that Kevin Dobson and Victor Campos even try a rather clumsy attempt at intimidation.

It's actually Detective Stavros who provides a link to another crime that puts the Manhattan South Squad in the right direction. I guess Kojak keeps him around for more than the butt of jokes.

Ryan wants to see his plan come together, it very nearly does.

Ibbotson...the perfect villain.
planktonrules29 August 2018
John P. Ryan stars as a total dirtbag named Ibbotson. It seems that years ago, Kojak arrested him for extortion...and the man was sent to prison for seven years. Now that he's out, he's interested in one thing...revenge. But instead of a normal revenge tale, this one is odd...as Ibbotson is not interested in keeping a low profile but constantly lets Kojak see him. It seems Ibbotson wants to make Kojak sweat a lot first....much like when Max Cady torments the District Attorney in "Cape Fear". So how is Ibbotson going to get revenge? See it and find out for yourself.

Ryan was wonderful as the bad guy in this one...and his demeanor was incredibly cold and sick. He was the perfect villain...and great writing helped to make this among the best shows in the series. A must-see!

Warning: Spoilers
***SPOILERS*** Let. Theo Kojak, Telly Savalas, finds himself in a corner or cage in him trying to prevent just released from jail Peter Ibbotson, John P. Ryan, from crashing or blowing up his niece Alexandra's,Janice Heiden, wedding in revenge for Kojak having him sent up the river on a seven year stretch for extortion. With Ibbotson not hiding the fact that he's out to spoil Alexandra's wedding party by blowing up both her and her husband to be Eugene,Lionel Johnstone,on their wedding day Kojak goes out of his way in order to stop him even breaking the law by doing it.

It's when Ibbotson posing as a car wash attendant plants a plastic explosive on the couples, Alexandra and Eugean's, limousine on its way to the wedding ceremony that Kojak, sensing trouble, springs into action together with the entire wedding party to prevent them from getting blown to bits before they take their wedding vows. This was a very personal thing with Let. Kojak not only that his niece's life, and her future husband, was in danger but it would prevent him from attending a big Greek buffet with all the fixing that he, who hasn't eaten in days, could pig himself out in.

Let. Kojak does his usual thing, like sucking on a lollipop,in this episode but also coins his signature quote, "Who loves ya Baby" here as well. As for Kojak's partner the hot headed but weak brained Det. Bobby Crocker, Kevin Dobson, he almost blows the whole operation by breaking into Ibbotdon'd pad without a warrant and stupidly planting fake evidence on him. That would not only let Ibboton off Scot-free but having him-Det. Crocker-both fired from his job but put up on charges and eventually ending up behind bars as well!
