I remember seeing this program when I was six. As a baseball fan, I still remember it. MacDonald, a former baseball pitcher, lives in a retirement home on Long Island. One day he breaks a window while playing horseshoes and realizes his old curve is back. MacDonald contacts the New York Giants (Yes, the New York Giants. This was a long time ago.) At his tryout, a major league batter says that trying to hit his curve is like trying to hit a baseball with a toothpick. MacDonald becomes quite a celebrity, but when he gets on the mound during a game, he realizes he does not have it anymore. He goes back to his retirement home, until one day he breaks the window again. He immediately calls the Brooklyn Dodgers but, after getting the Dodgers' office on the phone, decides against pursuing a major league comeback. I really do not know how to rate this: after all, I was only six when I saw it. That was 59 years ago. I've included a spoiler alert; however, I doubt anyone's enjoyment will be spoiled because I doubt that anyone will be able to see this program.
