Best Season The Show Ever Did Gets Off To A Strong Start
phodyss6 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
speficially by doing the unthinkable: actually making a character out of Rosalind Shays, the bitch we loved to hate the entire previous season, which featured her arrival as a new Partner at McKenzie Brackman, her lightning fast rise to the position of Senior Partner, and then the fall -- as the tight-knit firm rebels agains her radically different (and only marginally ethical) modus operandi, ultimately ousting her.

In the ladies room, Kelsey -- her staunchest critic at the firm -- takes pity on Roz and tells her, "if you were a man, you'd be loved for what you did."

This episode features that comment -- Anne's small kindness to her vanquished foe -- coming back to the firm in the ass when Roz sues for sexual discrimination and wrongful termination.

When she wins, the judgement will hobble the firm -- In fact, it will destroy the firm... Unless all involved are willing to deal.

Later in the season, after Roz steps into an open elevator shaft and plummets to her death, we have "The Partner War" -- Grace, Kuzak and Sifuentes vs everyone else. And nothing will ever be the same (at least, in terms of the quality of the show).
