A member of a family that once had a running feud with the Sherman clan is
accidentally shot by his own weapon on Sherman land. The father is a bitter
old patriarch who has been nursing a grudge against the Shermans for years.
Henry Hull convinces himself that Slim Sherman shot his kid in the back and he's
now gunning for him.
In the tradition of the old ways he challenges John Smith to a straight out stand up duel with old fashioned pistols, no fast draw for Hull. Smith does his very best to avoid it, in the end he can't.
I have to say this given Hull's nature and he is a standout in the role of a bitter old man what John Smith does really requires some guts. I think very few of us would have handled it the way he did.
