A couple of guys who normally play good guys on the big screen play outlaws in
this small screen western episode of Laramie. Bruce Bennett plays the leader of
a notorious outlaw band and Ben Johnson his half brother who rob the bank at
Laramie, killing the sheriff.
But it's Johnson who's caught and when they learn who he is it's common knowledge that Bennett won't leave him behind. They'll be an attempted breakout for sure. When the first attempt leaves the acting sheriff wounded it all comes down on Slim Sherman and Jess Harper. And Bennett and Johnson have at least one more relation in town.
I could not believe that the acting sheriff would leave the town idiot in charge of anything like guarding the jail. Irving Bacon plays said idiot and he's also a familiar big screen face from the big studio days. His is one feckless character and comic relief he's not.
