• Wyatt Earp : [Opening Narration]  Marshal Earp's good friends were Mr. Cousin and Mr. Brother, Cheyenne Indians who had left their tribal group to serve as scouts for the Army and valued advisors for Marshal Earp. Wyatt has been much criticized for his wide variety of friends and his absolute loyalty to them. But friendship with Indians was beyond the pale. As Dodge City said in 1879, 'Injuns' weren't even people.

• Bat Masterson : [to Dade, regarding his smug and disrespectful attitude]  Don't beg for a lickin', fella.

  Will Dade : [Looks at Wyatt with total contempt]  Just who's gonna give me that? You?

  [Wyatt shoves Dade out an open window and a brief one-sided fight ensues. Wyatt shoves and pins Dade against a wall, landing four punches, followed by five sharp slaps across the face] 

  Bat Masterson : [Intervening]  Wyatt! You'll kill him!

  Wyatt Earp : [Holding onto the badly beaten Dade]  Yeah, there's a law against that, isn't there? You take him to the edge of town, give him back his gun. And YOU, whatever your name is, you come back into Dodge again, I may have to break that law.
