Sins Of The Father

Tom Bryan is a powerful man in Two Rivers, but he wants to dominate his son and force him to live the way he wants him to. Fred tries to leave. He and his father struggle and Fred accidentally shoots his father. Tonto sees what happened and reports it to the sheriff, but he won't believe Tonto. Bryan has the crooked sheriff in his pocket. Tonto and The Ranger, disguised as a retired army corporal, go to see Bryan with the sheriff, but all appears normal and Tom and Fred deny the shooting ever happened. Tom was only wounded, but he plans to keep this over Fred's head to keep him in line. The Ranger and Tonto see Bill Nichols, their friend and former sheriff. They come up with a plan to force Bryan to confess, but it involves using Tonto as bait. Ewing Mitchell plays Tom Bryan, and Ron Hagerthy is Fred Bryan. They both had regular roles on the long running Sky King TV series, although at different times. Hagerthy was Clipper King in the 1952 season, and Mitchell came on as Sheriff Mitch Hargrove in the final season.
