Hired killers Colby and Manson bushwhack and seriously wound railroad surveyor Jeff Whalen. Jeff has a map showing the route to be used by the railroad that iscoming through, but the stagecoach companies don't want that and so they hired the two killers. The Ranger and Tonto find Jeff. He gives them the map to deliver to his boss, Ben Davis, who is waiting at the nearby ranch of Clara Bentley and her teenage son. Buddy. But Colby and Manson get to the ranch first and take everyone prisoner. They leave them all tied up in the basement with a lit five minute fuse connected to several kegs of blasting powder. It looks like the end but maybe Buddy's knowledge of chemistry can help our heroes to overcome this bad situation. Frank Wilcox plays Colby. A few years later he would be Mr. Brewster, the president of The O.K. Oil Company on The Beverly Hillbillies.
