Antonio Fargas appeared in some of my favorite black genre movies, including Foxy Brown and Cleopatra Jones. He also appeared on Starsky and Hutch (ABC, naturally.) Here, he plays an ad man plotting a campaign. Their neighbors suspect he's really up to some womanizing. They're right to suspect him. He's got a mistress on board. Look at the way the neighbor Herman looks over the mistress. Pat Morita is back, playing a Japanese industrialist with an incomplete mastery of English idioms. Gary Collins is his manager. They're here to buy Mrs. Newman's factory. She's played by Diane Baker. Gary Collins should use his charm. 'I hear you have a black belt in hanky panky,' Collins has a secret, and he wants to show it to her. Morita says. Eve Plumb is here, playing a left-wing student. She immediately chats up Gopher. 'Do you have any books on Lenin?' she asks. 'No but we have some on Ringo,' he replies. Put on a bikini and loosen up, Jan. Now they're making Star Wars references on The Love Boat. Besides the novelty of imagining Eve Plumb and Antonio Fargas in an action thriller together, this one doesn't do much. Onward to Season 2. On Kafka's Love Boat Scale, this gets 2 1/2 stars out of a possible 4 *.
