Horse for Sale

During a ride in the park, "Ed" complains he is tired. Wilbur points out older horse "Bernadine" working 14 hours a day as a photographer's model, with overweight women sitting on her. Ed thinks there "ought to be a horse labor law." Wilber jokingly offers to sell Ed, but later considers the idea more seriously when he realizes he is spending more time with Ed than Carol (Connie Hines). Addison (Larry Keating) reminds Wilbur that winter is approaching, and Carol will be warmer company. Carol thinks Wilbur may be having an affair with the "Bernadine" he mentions in his sleep. Ed fears he will be made a workhorse, soon to be buried under a tombstone reading, "Here lies Ed - Dead".

The description is off a little bit

Wilbur didn't give Ed away to secure a contract, Ed asked Wilbur to give him away to the potential Client, so Ed could with the Clients Horse.

While the description would fit in a modern show, before the 90's, people wouldn't have given up a loved horse, just to secure a contract.

Mr. Ed is another fine example of how great a world we had, when money was NOT the key focus of life.

Definitely a feel good series to anyone over 55, that was there, did that, and longs for the day we become human again.

I highly recommend this series to everyone, and wonder what the children of today think of it. I know I never forgot "Hello, Willllburrr"
