Warning: Spoilers
Julie finds herself being held hostage when a group of college activists stage a revolution on campus. Like the earlier Season 3 episode "'A" Is For Annie", here Julie is once again seen bonding with a lady teacher of a certain age, who gets drawn into a terrible situation through no fault of her own. Peggy does some great acting in this one, from her display of bravado toward the maniac who's running the show, to her "sick-with-fear" expression after Michael Warren's character is shot.

Pete and Linc spend the episode infiltrating the campus and crawling through air vents to save Julie and the others from a bloodbath. There is a scene in the middle involving firecrackers that turns into mass hysteria that is very well-executed. Or maybe I should rephrase that...

Jack Bender looks like a Greg Brady-wannabe as the leader of the revolt. Your opinion of the character may or may not change due to a great twist in the story. Bob Balaban would play a similar wack-job role in Season 5's "Belinda, Little Miss Bubble Gum", but here he's scarier as a human time bomb just waiting to explode - all twitchy frustration and pent-up rage. A young Michael Warren appears as a student protestor. Ten years later he would be on the other side of the law as a regular on HILL STREET BLUES.

I first saw this one back in the '90s when a box set of select episodes was released on VHS. I found it riveting then and never forgot it. Yes, Julie obviously does get rescued, but it's not exactly what you'd call a happy ending - but GREAT for it.

This one was co-written by Marvin Kaplan -- yes, the guy who played Henry the telephone repairman for years on ALICE.

One of the season's best AND a series' best. 10/10.
