THE GOOD EARTH AIN'T THAT GOOD!
tcchelsey22 December 2023
Tom Adair wrote this episode, who actually was a famous song writer; "The Night We Called it a Day," many others. He wrote several episodes for THE MUNSTERS, who also met up with lots of con men.

You think after having been scammed for dance lessons, Uncle Charley would have learned! He takes more money out of the bank and wants to buy some vacation property. Not good. The place is not fit for man nor beast. In fact, it looks like part of this episode was filmed around the rugged stretches of Griffith Park, outside the famous observatory.

A serio-comic episode that's all too relatable, and partly based on fact. I think Tom Adair may have pulled a few ideas from episodes of DRAGNET, which had many true stories about scamming retired folks. Additionally, Fred MacMurray, in real life, invested in real esate over the years and may have relayed a few interesting stories to Tom.

Watch for Lynette Winter from the GIDGET tv series and Herb Vigran, who played his fair share of assorted bad guys and cons in his career.

Again, it's Charley versus the cruel world out there. William Demarest is a real treat to watch, everyone's adopted tv uncle.

From SEASON 7 EPISODE 20.
