Kohler buys the diner and gets a lot more than he bargained for
vex86bird30 June 2007
Hank tends to just bumble through life without making too much of himself. Not the sharpest knife in the cutting block he doesn't think things through. When his dad is forced to give Hank his share of inheritance from his mother's death he predicts that Hank will squander the money. Sure enough Hank doesn't think more than 20 minutes ahead in his future and drops the money into buying the Atlas Diner. Hank can be annoying so when he's the focus of an entire episode stupidity ensues. With his child-like nature in full swing he talks baby talk to everyone in the diner during the downswing of the episode. Towards the end of the episode when the staff of the Atlas Diner abandons Hank I was about ready to abandon the episode. So to sum up, not one of my favorites ;)

Atlas Diner Shrugged

Warning: Spoilers
I'm enjoying very much re-watching Parker Lewis Can't Lose, a sadly underrated sitcom from the 1990s, and one I first watched when it debuted. Anyway, I must be one of the few Parker Lewis fans who enjoyed watching the third season, and here we have Kohler Buys the Diner. Season three had a strong emphasis on relationships, and here it's the relationship between Hank and Mikey (who gets promoted to manager), Hank and his father, Hank and his late mom, and Hank and Ms Musso.

The ending was redemptive for Kohler. I loved the reference to Edward Hopper's Nighthawks painting throughout this fine episode.
