Danny Partridge, meter maid
kevinolzak2 April 2014
Another clever title, "Morning Becomes Electric" accompanies a timely story during the final days of the Nixon administration, when energy conservation became all important, cars lined up for hours at gas stations. The Partridges volunteer to lead San Pueblo in saving energy for a month, with Danny going so far as to have all the town's 'energy hogs' exposed in the local paper, to the approval of Mayor Towbin (Jack Collins, last of three appearances). Maureen Reagan, daughter of future President Ronald Reagan's first marriage to actress Jane Wyman, puts in a nice bit as the local photographer, after which Danny is stunned to find that the family has almost no energy to spare for its last days of the month. We get our last look at the Partridge basement, and a final freezing evening spent before the roaring fireplace, with another rendition of "Sunshine," composed by Wes Farrell, Bobby Hart, and Danny Janssen, from seventh LP CROSSWORD PUZZLE (already featured in "Ain't Loveth Grand?").
