A very nice second part of one of the better "Quincy" episodes.
planktonrules4 March 2013
Even though this is the second in a two-part episode of "Quincy", it apparently was shown immediately after part one--not the following week.

In part one, we find Quincy and his VERY patient girlfriend at a conference at a Lake Tahoe resort. And, since Quincy's vacations ALWAYS result in someone dying, it's not too surprising that guests of the hotel begin getting sick with some sort of fever--a fever that ends up killing several of them. By the end of part one, the guests learn what is afoot and there is widespread panic that it COULD be Legionnaire's Disease--the same killer that scared the heck out of doctors the previous year in a highly publicized outbreak. Can Dr. Quincy and his associates get to the bottom of this?

Here in part two, Quincy continues to try to determine what is killing these people. It looks like it COULD be Legionnaire's but they aren't sure AND they have no idea how it's spreading. At the same time, mobsters are trying to buy the resort. Could the mob be deliberately causing the outbreak--or just taking advantage of the situation? Or, could another sinister cause be behind all this?

Aside from a bit of macho grandstanding when Dr. Quincy confronted a mob killer and the surprise villain, this is a very well made episode--and a worthy followup to episode one. Interesting from start to finish and well worth seeing.

Part 2...

Warning: Spoilers
Quincy M.E.: Snake Eyes: Part 2 starts as panic spreads through the hotel as news of the killer disease becomes common knowledge, the guests are desperate to leave & LA coroner Quincy (Jack Klugman) is having a hard time keeping control of the situation. All the blood & food tests come back negative, what is causing people to become ill & die is still a complete mystery. Then, Dr. Pines (Frank Converse) dog dies from the same symptoms & after an autopsy he is able to narrow down the cause which should put an end to it but things just aren't as straight forward as that & Quincy still has some detective work to do...

Episode 2 from season 2 this Quincy story was directed by Joel Oliansky & is rightly considered by many fans of the series to be one of Quincy's finest stories because quite frankly it is. The script flags a bit for the first half as Quincy & his Doctor friends go round in circles trying to find out what is making people ill but this episode finishes with a really unexpected & highly effective twist ending which I must admit I didn't see coming & I had already seen Sanke Eyes before (although that was back in the 90's)! I really liked the ending here & it made the whole thing a very satisfying way to spend a few hours over it's two episodes & there is even a murder for Quincy to solve as well. This is one where Quincy is out of the lab for the entire duration of the show so it's a nice change of scenery as well although unusually there's not much humour. A great two part story rightly regarded as one of Quincy's best.

These old Quincy episodes were probably quickly made for TV on a low budget so they are never going to win any awards for style but it's competently made. The acting is alright, some of the guest stars are a little wooden but the regulars are very good as usual especially Klugman who literally steals every scene he is in.

Snake Eyes: Part 2 is a terrific second part to a terrific first part, there's murder, intrigue & an unexpected twist ending, what more do you want? A must for fans of the show.

Good conclusion with plenty of twists and turns
rayoflite2428 July 2015
Snake Eyes: Part 2 picks up with Quincy (Jack Klugman) trying to prevent a panic and people from fleeing the Tahoe resort as word spreads about the outbreak while also still investigating the cause. Another plot involves a mobster trying to buy the resort from the manager who had been resisting, but now is more inclined to sell due to the outbreak and the resulting mass cancellations of reservations.

This episode is a good follow up to Part 1 with enough twists and turns to keep things moving so that it doesn't seem dragged out like some other two-part episodes of the series. Just when you think the investigation is complete and all questions are answered, Quincy gets that nagging feeling and must make sure that nothing has been overlooked.

These first two episodes of Season 2 are a good start as the series began transitioning out of the NBC Mystery Movie of the week broadcast. It was nice to see nothing was lost in the transition to a weekly series.

Snake Eyes: Part 2
Prismark109 January 2020
There might be an outbreak of Legionnaires Disease at the casino resort. There is still time for Martha Reeves and the Vandellas to perform.

Quincy is looking for any leads that has caused the hotel guests to fall sick. The mafia are circling on Al Ringerman, the casino owner to buy his resort cheaply now that the outbreak is on the news.

It is the resort doctor Dr Larry Pines who unearths an important clue when his dog dies.

The episode is more than just an outbreak at the casino. There is one of the goons from the mafia who lost a lot of money on the tables. Quincy thinks the outbreak may not be accidental and has an idea who may be responsible.

There is the less of a race against time in Part 2. The machinations of various characters come to the forefront.
