The writers slipped on this episode.

With the Mayor out of town, Mike has been put in charge of negotiating with the local doormen on a new contract. Mike is trying to prove, to everyone, that he could possible be a candidate for mayor if Randall Winston gets elected to the Senate. But he will find that there is more to being mayor than just knowing the job.

Also Paul, with his game show winnings, has opened up a new restaurant with a political theme. Since he has no idea about how to run a business it will be a miracle if things are successful.

One of the better plots has Stuart's girlfriend, Deidre, and Caitlin having a little run-in at City Hall. After some exchange of words, Deidre starts getting under Caitlin's skin. Things are going to be strange at work.

The Deidre story could have been great yet very little time was spent on the situation and it ended even quicker than it began. There was much potential with the two female co-workers but the writers did not take a chance and used it more as a filler for time rather than a story.

This episode has some good moments but they were few and far between. The story with Paul was known before it began and turned into more of a dull-fest than anything amusing. Plus, the doorman story also fell flat as it just did not cause any interest in the show. The writers had a good story with Deidre and Caitlin and let it slip through their fingers. A disappointing adventure.
