The SGC receives a signal in slow motion from SG-10, and General Hammond sends a probe to the planet. Soon the SGC discovers that the SG-10 is under the effect of a black hole and unsuccessfully tries to disengage the Stargate. Further, they discover that the black hole is affecting the SGC through the wormhole. When Colonel Cromwell and his team arrive at the SGC, they learn that time is passing slowly near the Stargate. General Hammond is summoned by the President and receives order to blow- up the SGC. However Sam is convinced that the destruction of the SGC will be ineffective and tries to find another solution. Will she succeed?

"A Matter of Time" is among the best episodes of Stargate SG-1. It is very funny to see Sam trying to explain to Jack what a wormhole is. The apparently hopeless situation is well-resolved in the end. My vote is eight.

I have to say, I was really impressed with the filming of the SG team attempting to escape the black hole at the beginning. It was a really good way to show the time dilation black holes produce, and it was also a heck of a way to build suspense. This episode still scares me (I watched it for the 1st time when I was ten and terrified of black holes), but I have to hand it to them on the portrayal of the science.

Decent episode in terms of a unique storyline and positively mind bending concepts. Carter once again saves the day, she puts in the OT. The ending was a bit too dramatic and the new character not developed enough to elicit care.
