I've watched this episode a few times now and I don't quite know what to think of it. Starsky and Hutch are undercover to get a big drug kingpin. They are in rather flamboyant outfits, but no one seems to find them to be too unusual. They negotiate for bigger and bigger drug buys, in order to draw the headman out to meet with them. Their actions seem to scream "we are undercover cops" to me, but no one seems that suspicious. Well, there is suspicions, but no one follows up or digs any deeper, so Starsky and Hutch keep pushing it. They finally offer the kingpin a rare stamp as a good faith gift if he will meet with them. I wouldn't think that a big-time criminal got to the top of the heap by being so gullible.
It's not a bad episode, but it doesn't have any great scenes or much to make it that memorable. This is probably why I have to keep watching it in order to figure out how to rate it. But it's always a pleasure to watch PMG and DS play Starsky and Hutch in Season 1, so I won't complain too much.
