That's mainly a rivalry scheme here, where a newly wed wife suspects her husband, a gumshoe, to investigate about his former sweetheart. This kind of scheme is not that exciting, at least for my taste. I call this a domestic suspense in the Alfred Hitchcock manner but it's easily watchable with some good moments though to keep you interested till the end. You never see Constance in this story, that's the most interesting point.
