One man shows the way

On the way back to Shiloh James Drury has the misfortune to meet up with Peter Brown and a gang of toughs from his ranch and they steal his gun and horse. Drury gets no satisfaction from the town which is under the thumb of Brown and his bully boy ranchhands.

He does meet up with and old friend Susan Oliver and her daughter Eve Plumb and husband John Lupton. When Plumb is nearly killed by gw hands after some rowdiness then th e town oes into action sort of.

Some similarities between this and the classic James Stewart western Man Frpm Laramie. Good guest cast here which also includes Bert Freed. Vsughn Taylor, Judson Pratt and especially Virginia Christine as Brown's mother.

Good performances bogged down by script

Peter Brown comes to a point in his career where he plays a villain.Virginia Christine does a good job of playing the mother who doesn't understand why her son has gone bad.Too much soap in the plot interferes with the story. Not much Shiloh in this episode.Could be part of the problem.James Drury does what he can to maintain interest including avenging the stealing of his horse and the shooting of a little girl played by Eve Plumb. John Lupton provides good support
