One of the few Wagon Train episodes that was strictly comic, Frank McGrath takes
center stage in this story.
The Wagon Train is doing a favor for the army and taking some army gold and Jeanette Nolan and her two sons have plans to rob it. The plans call for them to capture Chris Hale. But Nolan has raised two truly brain dead sons and they capture Charlie Wooster instead.
The rest of the episode has Frank McGrath thinking fast on his feet convincing Nolan and her two sons he's really an outlaw at heart. He doesn't really fool Nolan, but she thinks he might make good husband material.
Nice performances by the ensemble which also includes Morgan Woodward and L.Q. Jones as the sons and Mickey Sholdar as a kid who hangs out with them. Sholdar turns out to be the only real friend McGrath has.
Good rollicking fun this episode is.
