Tom's latest obsession is to become 100% truthful all the time. However, this does NOT mean being just truthful but also tactless and cruel. For example, Jane pathetically tries to dress up as a beauty queen to impress Harvey...and Tom tells her she looks awful...which is true but VERY cruel and unnecessary.

Later, Diana's niece brings by her fiance to meet Diana and Tom. Oddly, Diana is very close-mouthed about the boyfriend...even though he is god-awful and nearly as awful as the idiot Baines.

The episode isn't bad but the whole fiance bit seemed out of place, as Diana says nothing about the guy (even though he's practically Satan). As for Tom, he DOES confront the guy and manages to blackmail him...and in the process manages to also make Marian LIKE him! Overall, very good...but odd in the way Diana behaves...it just didn't seem consistent.

Tom has decided that the only way forward is to be brutally honest with everyone, the first to receive his words of wisdom is Jane, Diana is introduced to Sarah's new boyfriend Sam, the pair offer Diana a new business venture.

What this episode does well is tinge the humour with sadness, the laughs are frequent, the tragedy side of things come from a desperate, love struck Jane. Overall, it isn't one of the finest, but it's a good episode. I really liked that we got to see the softer, caring side of Diana,

Credit to Janine Duvitski, she so often played these dowdy, desperate characters, she played them so well, poor Jane's desperation to appear to Harvey Baines is actually pretty sad, her appearance a little overly grotesque.

Once again it's great to see Tom tormenting the awful Marion. Good, also to see the excellent Christopher Bowen, I wasn't expecting to see him pop up on this show.
