Half an hour of obviously muggish rogues trying to make a buck out of every get rich quick scheme that they could think of comes nearly to be a TV version of what Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall had been doing for nearly two decades in various incarnations on the big screen. I believe that I had seen both Sheldon Leonard and Don Beddoe at some point in the Bowery Boys films, and here, they are obviously playing variations of Slip and Sach, even with a Louis like hamburger joint where the two try to involve the owner in a scheme to exploit his ability to predict the future. Obvious bad guys get involved in the scheme (much like either Leonard or Beddoe had done when they guest starred down on the Bowery) but even though the well intended light hearted atmosphere is there), the sweet, dumb innocence is missing. If this was a pilot for a series (which Mr. Leonard wrote himself), I am glad that the pilot went out.

Overgrown Bowery Boys....if that isn't already beyond redundant.
