Key Witness
Prismark1023 November 2020
Yellowthread Street was ITV's answer to Miami Vice. It was shot on location in Hong Kong with flashy photography by David Tattersall who would go on to be the cinematographer for the Star Wars prequels and a James Bond movie.

Only by the time the series aired. Miami Vice had finished its run in America and US television was moving on to Twin Peaks.

Key Witness sees Detective Wu being contacted by a man called Hicks who has vital information about some Hong Kong gangs. He wants to cut a deal.

Soon Hicks find himself in danger and the police needs to keep him safe but it could also be a set up.

There is a musical interlude as Eden and Marenta drive through the streets with Billy Idol's White Wedding being played.

Some nice flashy shots, a good shootout at the end but it feels like a shallow B movie.
