This is definitely NOT a fun movie to watch--in fact, it's amazingly depressing. Now this does NOT mean that I am not recommending you see this short film. After all, it's well made and talks about an interesting topic--survivor guilt and feelings of hopelessness following the attacks on 9/11.
Jack is on duty with the National Guard by day and a stand-up comedian by night. Otherwise, he's a terrible father and husband--being morose and depressed all the time. You can easily tell that feelings of helplessness overwhelm him--after all, what can he do if there is another attack?! So, he allows these worries to eat him up inside and destroy his life.
The film deserves kudos for dealing with an important but seldom talked about topic--the cost of 9/11 on the survivors. I really don't see this as an anti- or pro-war on terror film--just a film about the human cost that isn't measured in the usual statistics. An excellent and insightful film, though parents are cautioned that the film has some very adult language.
