London is drowning...powerful drama.

Scientist Water Dodds predicts that central London is imminently going to be flooded, and with The Thames barrier not yet built, The City is defenseless, some take the warning seriously, others look at it as an opportunity to make a buck.

I've always been so keen to check out London is drowning, if I'm honest, I'd hoped for something along the lines of Threads. Not quite as bleak as Threads, but definitely a thought provoking drama nonetheless. The focus is very much on the build up, rather than the actual event, and subsequent fallout.

There are no shortage of chilling moments, hearing The sirens in central London is one, and seeing people being turned away from an empty Underground, that was powerful.

How they managed to get permission to empty the streets of London is beyond me, it looks so incredibly eery.

Graham Williams did a cracking job with writing the script, I'm assuming it's the same Williams that worked on Doctor Who, I wasn't aware that he wrote as well, plenty of imagination in the script.

Well acted by a very competent cast, David Neal, George Roubicek and Susan Tracy stand out for me.

8/10.
