Does Timmy Turner REALLY have to be nonexistent?
enzotadah19 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw this episode, I realised that everyone's lives are better without Timmy was because he was selfish, and then he learned a lesson in the end. But when I It's a Wonderful Life, which is what the title is a play on words of, I realised that it's just so sad that a young boy was underappreciated and when he wished he was never born, everyone was actually happy without him. Timmy's parents are rich, Francis is nice, AJ is in college as age 10, Crocker is a better teacher, Vicky is a dental assistant, Chester has a better mobile home and has Cosmo and Wanda, and Jorgen is not helpful.

In what world is this remotely funny?

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the most cynical and hate-filled episodes of the Fairly Odd Parents I've ever seen. This may be one of the worst episode of a kid's show I've ever seen. I kinda get what the writers were going for; they wanted to subvert "It's A Wonderful Life." The problem is the subversion is it did nothing for the comedy aspect the show. If they were trying to go for a black humor then that also makes no sense since the Fairly Odd Parents doesn't do black humor since it's a kid's show. The only thing they do to come close to it is glorifying Mr. and Mrs. Turner's parental abuse and child neglect. Put yourself in Timmy's shoes. How would you feel is you found out that the world and all of your loved ones would be infantry happier if you didn't exist? I would feel like absolute garbage and want to kill myself. That's another problem this episode has. It makes committing suicide the right thing for Timmy to do, yet Jorgen makes it seem like if Timmy wished his existence away he will be punished for doing the right thing. Speaking of Jorgen holy cow is he cruel in this episode. He constantly rubs the fact that the world is infinitely better without Timmy directly in his face. I know Jorgen hates Timmy but come on. After everything that we just saw they make the lesson of the show that you should always do good deed for people, even when they constantly spit in your face and show blatant discontent towards you. Here's the problem. At the beginning of the episode Timmy was already doing good deeds for people because he felt like doing something nice. So essentially Timmy goes through all this needless psychological torture to learn a lesson he didn't need to learn. This is an episodes that feels like something that belongs on South Park or Family Guy. Not a show aimed at grade schoolers.
