The "CRIME OF ALL CENTURIES"

...introduced "KRAVEN, THE HUNTER" to the eighties generation being a strong and clever villain who could overpower many heroes not only in a fight but also in matters of the heart. During this second episode of "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends", we see FIRESTAR completely impressed with KRAVEN to the point of ignoring both SPIDER-MAN and ICEMAN and even despising them a bit until the point in the story where it is clear that KRAVEN is a villain.

I normally prefer the series where Spider-Man works alone and I think that most of his fan-base does, nevertheless we have to admit that since she was both the love interest of Spider-Man and Iceman, "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" kept us wondering if FIRESTAR was going to decide herself for SPIDEY, ICEMAN or someone else. Even when most of the time, it seemed like "someone else" was going to be her choice, I think most of the fans had either Spidey or Iceman as their favorite to win her heart.

With a 6.5 as its average score, I think it is clear that this episode is not among the favorites for most viewers, nevertheless I think it was a good and entertaining story and as I said, it was the first time for the most of us to see a story with Kraven as the villain. Kraven would eventually be considered by IGN as the 53rd Greatest Comic Villain of all Time and IMO, "KRAVEN'S LAST HUNT" a 1987's comic by J.M. DeMatteis, M. Zeck and Bob McLeod is a MUST-READ for all the fans of the Friendly Neighborhood SPIDER-MAN!!!

Thanks for reading.
