There are rumours of an uprising in Up Pompeii. Rabble rousing slave Spartacus wants to make the slaves, the new masters.
The masters would become the new slaves. Lurcio's having none of it. He is more worried about his sinner, it is a dog's breakfast.
His master Ludicrus Sextus warns him of what would happen to slaves that side with Spartacus. Only Nausius ends up with sympathy for Spartacus and distributes pamphlets.
It ends up with Lurcio getting the blame and getting thrown into the dungeon. All attempts at rescue fail as the jailer is too clever.
Maybe it is Spartacus to the rescue. With Lurcio living the high life.
It would be only a matter of time before the Spartacus story showed up. The shenanigans in the jail was nicely done.
I did like Frankie Howerd's off the cuff witticisms. It looks like it was Frankie improvising over mistakes when it was all rehearsed to be like that.
