Fun, Fast paced film that could be a great feature film
AJDSTYLE9 February 2007
This movie does what very few films can, it's slick, smart and funny. Marked by great gun play, shot beautifully with great sfx. It's at once bloodily violent and absolutely hilarious the next. The performances are ultra cool with a great Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid relationship between the protagonists; Dale(Scoot Mcnairy) & Reece(Jim Thalman). This film-making team, led by GS Smith, who's bold story telling style is reminiscent of a young Tarantino is one to be on the look out for. There's a sequence in the film, during a weapons deal, where the buyer (Judd Laurence) brings his mentally retarded nephew to the deal, and what is an ultra dangerous moment, then turns ultra hilarious, with dialog like "who brought the retard" these men are so morally bankrupt, but you love them none-the-less because they just don't care, and in the blink of an eye, the situation becomes deadly with bullets flying and brains splattering. It's really a credit to the director that he can achieve the balance of danger and humor. Very few can.

Fun stuff.

Fun movie with healthy doses of humor, bullets, and irony. Though director Greg Smith has a wonderful sense of pacing and stupendous comic timing, the real gem in WMISF is Ben Northington as "Chopper". Anyone who knows the Adonis that is Ben Northington knows full well that the character on screen is an entirely different animal. But while watching the mangy, witless and stupid Chopper, you forget that Ben Northington is in fact a handsome man, a strong and smart man. An incredible man. Kudos to Greg Smith for bringing out the best, which is to say the worst, in Northington, and to introducing him to the cinematic landscape.
