They caught something fishy, but not a fish

Warning: Spoilers
The gang returns from an uninspired fishing trip. They inadvertently stumble into an abandoned swamp, and get lost. They find a general store, and encounter a man who feeds them a story about a witch conjuring up a spell to bring back a zombie from the dead. The gang wants to meddle as usual to uncover the truth behind it all. This is an excellent episode. It's fun, creative, and has many silly laughs throughout. The zombie guy is very effective, and looks like a guy from The Goonies with how he is presented. The atmosphere is terrific in this one with some memorable chase scenes, and of course some terrific gags as well. I loved when Shaggy impersonates a witch to fool the Zombie with the help of Scooby. The card game and a scene involving Scooby and Jumping Beans are just three of many great gags throughout this episode. The witch is also quietly effective. I didn't enjoy her as much as I did the Zombie, but she was definitely cool. It's a cinch to predict the villain, but what do you expect from a Scooby episode?. I always enjoy the ride, no matter how predictable they are. This isn't Murder She Wrote, it's here for your entertainment, and it entertains like not many cartoons can. If you're a Scooby fan, you have no excuse not to see it. Its great stuff

P.S. The only thing I didn't like about this episode was that Scooby does a really bizarre laugh in this episode. I don't know why they did that, but it gave me the willies.

Which Witch Is Which?

Warning: Spoilers
The first mention of Voodoo in Scooby Doo, something that will appear relatively frequently in subsequent Scooby Doo franchise episodes. This episode while perhaps not as memorable as some others like the Miner '49er episode or Space Kook was a good one nonetheless.

"Here, double ugly, go buy yourself a new face"

As said in my previous 'Scooby Doo Where are You' reviews, 'Scooby Doo Where are You' still holds up as the best of the numerous incarnations of the immensely popular franchise, of which "Which Witch is Which" is one of my favourites.

The swamp setting is incredibly atmospheric, with the colours and level of detail gone into it it is up there as one of the creepiest settings on the show. "Which Witch is Which" is also advantaged by agreed two great villains that add hugely to the episode's appeal. The witch is very well designed and effectively menacing, but the zombie is even more memorable, the design is freaky but he is so much fun. The identity of the perpetrator is not really that much of a surprise, but to be honest there are far more obvious reveals and often with villains not as interesting.

Like with the best of Scooby Doo, it isn't just the atmosphere and creepiness that makes "Which Witch is Witch" so worthwhile. 'Scooby Doo Where Are You' is always high in the fun factor, and "Which Witch is Which" has fun in bucket-loads, with Shaggy's witch impersonation, the Jelly Beans gag and card game being the funniest gags and also three of the entire show's funniest moments. The dialogue is vintage Scooby Doo, with the best lines coming from Shaggy.

The story has continuous energy and atmosphere, and is never confusing or too obvious, and the final trap is creative enough.

Shaggy and Scooby never fail to bring a smile to my face, likewise with their ceaselessly charming chemistry, and Fred, Velma and Daphne are no less enjoyable either. As always, Don Messick, Casey Kasem and Frank Welker stand out of the voice acting, Messick and Kasem are without equal as Scooby and Shaggy and one cannot believe that it's been nearly 50 years and Welker's still voicing Fred with no signs of fatigue or inconsistency.

The animation is lively, atmospheric, lushly coloured and nicely drawn as always. The music adds to the impact the atmosphere creates, and it is very difficult to resist the classic theme song, along with the opening credits where it is so fun spotting and recognising the villains, that is one of the most iconic in animation.

All in all, wonderful episode and always has been a personal favourite. 10/10 Bethany Cox

Great Animation.

Which Witch Is Which:

The Gang Has An Almost Excellent Fishing Trip Until A Zombie Runs Afoul On There Trip.

Laughs Ensue Very Quickly And Very Effectively I Might Add.

Soon More Characters Are Introduced And Explained Very Throughly As Well.

It´s Pretty Hard To Dislike Any Scooby-Doo Episode And Including This One.

I´m sorry but you can´t disagree about this episode title like it states ¨Which Witch Is Which¨ Or it will be somewhat hard to disagree with the acting, animation, characters and among other information as well to.

Other Than That I Highly Recommend This Episode.

Enjoy The Episode.

Scooby Doo, Where Are You!

S1E13: Which Witch is Which? (1969)

After a fishing trip, the gang gets lost in a swamp and when a zombie gives them directions they know something isn't quite right. Soon they learn that the zombie was brought to life by a witch so the gang investigates what's going on. This here is certainly one of the more memorable episodes thanks in large part to it having two excellent villains. The witch has a terrific look as she's wrapped up in a purple dress, has the long pointy nose and of course the hat. The zombie is where the true fun is as he has a silly run but his actual look is perfect and really adds a lot of fun. The scene where Shaggy notices that his shadow isn't matching is just one highlight to be found here. The actual mystery is also a pretty good one and there's no question that we get a terrific atmosphere with the swamp setting.
