The best between the berbils episodes. Warning: Spoilers
Along "The Crystal Queen" plot the Thundercats face a very typical villain; one that is the incarnation of selfishness and egoism herself. She has power, richness, a comfortable life and even when she is not a beauty queen, also some beauty and nevertheless keeps coveting what other people possess, in this case, a wonderful and mythical bird that is very important for the berbils not only because of its beautiful appearance and sing but because it presages a good harvest for them.

When Lion-0 hears about her and her intentions from the berbils he says: "...that is the most selfish thing I've ever heard! " and of course immediately manages to take action when the bird is stolen.

Also, it seems to be an episode with a lot of magic; the idea of a mythical bird forecasting good harvests reminds us of the Greek, celtic and other traditions that have different ways of forecasting the coming of spring and good harvests. The first myth that comes to my mind is the one of the Greek goddess Persephone, whose kidnapping and coming back each year explains the seasons.

Another interesting metaphor within this story is that the soldiers that serve the queen in her palace are blindfolded. The explanation given in the story is that they are not allowed to see her treasure, which is for her pleasure alone. Nevertheless, don't you need to be blind to be at the service of a queen with those characteristics ???????

Thanks for reading.
