The Good Kisser
claudio_carvalho5 May 2008
After accusing the baseball player Mike Dawson of using steroids, the gossip columnist of the Daily Planet Linda Lake is followed by the athlete with destroyed career. She transforms herself into water and drags Mike to a fountain drowning him. Then she overhears the private conversation of Lana and Chloe about the doubts of Lana to accept Lex's proposal since she is still in love with Clark and she prints the story in the news. When Lex hires Linda to investigate Clark, she discovers his secret. Meanwhile Lois suspects that Oliver Queen is the Green arrow and asks Clark and Jimmy Olsen to help her to disclose the truth.

In this good episode directed by Tom Welling, the secrets of Clark and Oliver are threatened by the despicable and cynical gossip reporter and Lois respectively. Both plots are well resolved, but Linda is vanquished very easily. The comment of Lois about Clark's kiss is hilarious and one of the best moments of this episode. My vote is eight.

'Leaking' Information
Rcwilkinson12310 October 2007
Victims of meteor infections, Clark's secret, loyalties and secrets all fill this thrilling episode.

Linda Lake is notorious for reporting stories that don't have much proof of credibility, yet is a head writer for the Daily Planet. How can she learn such private information, providing great stories, without being seen? That is the mystery of this episode.

Lina exposes a professional baseball player for taking steroids. In addition, she later exposes Lana for telling Chloe that she would have married Clark had he proposed to her when they were together. In light of this news, Lex gets very upset. He becomes willing to pay off Linda for more news about what Lana still thinks about Clark. As a result, Linda learns about Clark's extra-terrestrial heritage. Lana gets upset at Linda for exposing this private information. With Chloe, they prepare to spy on Linda, only to have Linda catch them red-handed. On the video, watched by Lana, Linda talks to Chloe about Clark being an alien- only to have the secret kept from Lana by Chloe at the last second.

This episode is thrilling because it involves secrets that have been kept up to the duration of the entire series nearly blown by one slithery reporter in this episode. A fantastic watch.

Hydro
Colcatron11 April 2011
Another duel story episode in season 6 of Smallville, and surprisingly yet again the two stories work well on their own without distracting the viewer by the constant back and forth cutting. Season 6 had many flaws, but one of the most refreshing parts of the show was how the addition of the Green Arrow brought some focus to the aspect of hiding an identity. It was about time the show started making it a little harder for superheroes to hide their identity.

On the flip side, the story involving the meteor infected tabloid reporter was more entertaining than expected, but still standard for Smallville. My only complaint was that the climax felt like a bit of a cop out, but that's also comparing it to the climax of the Green Arrow/Clark/Lois story, which was much more original and entertaining.

After possibly the slowest start to any Smallville season, Hydro marks the turning point where the show starts becoming interesting again. And the best are still yet to come.

Tom is a great director!
zach-6911 January 2007
Tom is truly a Superman! He's an awesome actor, as well as a director. His first episode was great, this was even better!!! Finally, Lois and Clark kiss. I mean, not like it's been seen before, but that was an awesome moment. Clark disguises himself as The Green Arrow, saves Lois, the REAL Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) steps out of the shadow's, Lois realizes that the Green Arrow in the costume is an imposter. (No spoilers in this review, trust me, the preview for the episode was already shown the past week, like all other episodes.) This was honestly the best Superman kiss ever since Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder in the Superman Movie's. (Superman Return's was just a load of crap!) The kiss in that was lame!!! Tom just, blew me away with the way the episode was layed out! At the end of the episode I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Clark to reveal his secret to Lana. Tom got me going there for a sec. I really thought Clark would spill his beans! Oh, well, at least Clark and Oliver saved the day, the villain was defeated, and LOIS AND CLARK KISSED!!! If I knew Tom, I would take him out to lunch! Great job Tom, Christopher Reeve would be proud, I know I am. Smallville is Superman truly Returning!!! Screw Superman Returns!

Story of revealing and almost revealing of secrets.Great confidant Chloe
sharpcourse25 March 2008
I've always known Chloe to be the evenly good girl that is portrayed by Allison mack(permit me to start with this)but in this episode, she nailed it.

1st off,I'd go over the story.Linda lake is a very nosy overzealous, cynical and very very FREAKY top columnist at the daily planet. She goes over to write a very bad story on Lana Lang after overhearing her conversation with Chloe. They both now decide to do a private investigation on this columnist but the tables are turned:Lana almost discovers Clark's secret.

Meanwhile after a secret rendezvous between Lois and Jimmy Olsen and a little photo deal,Lois discovers (or rather becomes very suspicious)that "Ollie is the Green Arrow".She tells Clark this and Clark Decides he wants to help a friend keep his secret, posing as the green arrow and saving Lois in an alley(a scene which sees Clark finally kiss Lois),only for Oliver to appear in the middle thereby convincing Lois that GR was an impostor. On seeing the photo shots and hearing the story from Jimmy, Chloe figures out that Ollie really is the Green arrow(being the Fort Knox of secrets that she is),she knows that its Clark who knows the Green arrow's secret that helped Oliver pull this off.

Tom welling's directing is very remarkable in this episode. In fact,I loved this the most in the sixth season.Especially the scene where Chloe invites Clark over 2 hear Lois talk about her kiss with the Green arrow.Allison Mac really knows how to get it done, being in the middle of everything.

This episode could really have been named secrets because of the almost unraveling of secrets that is involved in this one.
