A key in a cake at Dante's restaurant leads to trouble. A Chinese worker called Quan hid it before he was abducted.
Dante offers an aspiring model free drinks as she takes a bite out of the cake and finds the key.
Later a Chinese woman called Mai-Ling claims to be Quan's sister and wants to retrieve an item on his behalf.
When Dante refuses, he finds himself violently abducted as well as meeting Quan. It seems Quan had evidence of a people smuggling ring where Chinese migrants were left in debt and treated like slaves.
Much of the episode is Dante trying to communicate with Quan who speaks no English. Then there is the waitress who lends Dante some money for a phone call and a cab. Dante knows how to repay her kindness.
