Always remember to cross a gypsy's palm with silver.
Sleepin_Dragon17 October 2015
Flora returns to Paradise lodge to discover Gypsy Magdalena doing readings for all the residents and staff. Flora refuses to cross her palm with silver, so Magdalena put a curse on Flora.

'It'll be that foot first that feels the pain, next your back will feel the strain, water next from head to toe, then to the Church yard you shall go.'

The series was now bringing in guest actors, I suppose in a bid to freshen up the series, and take it beyond the confines of Paradise Lodge, Gretchen Franklin I think gave the best guest performance of the series, very funny, she had great scenes with Peggy. Just a few years before Franklin would find fame on EastEnders.

Favourite quote, 'she reminds me of someone, is there a look of Worzell Gummidge.'

A fairly fun episode, nice performance from Gretchen Franklin. 7/10.

The Gipsy's Curse

My word didn't Ethel look young. It was only made a few years before Eastenders began, Gretchen Franklin plays Gypsy Magdalena who is doing readings for the residents of Paradise Lodge as long as they cross her palm with silver.

However Flora does not believe in all this mumbo jumbo and insults Gypsy Magdalena who places a curse on Flora in return.

Before long the curse might be coming true and the rest go looking for Gypsy Magdalena to reverse it.

A fairly amusing if predictable episode. It is rather obvious Mildred could not ride that Honda motorbike.
