Popeye and Olive are tourists in India. Unfortunately, so is the dreaded Sea Hag and her pet vulture. The hag is planning "the biggest crime caper of my career." She's going to steal this huge jade jewel. The trouble is that anyone who steals the gem is under a terrible curse, so the Hag has to find some dumb dodo to do it for her. Hmmm......here comes Olive.
This is a silly, very juvenile episode, sadly typical of at least half of the 1960-61 cartoons that were put in a series and shown as weekly television programs. They were aimed at small kids but those of us who grew up watching Popeye cartoons were used to funnier and far more clever material than what was presented here.
There were a few good moments, however, in the last two minutes here. In one, a building falls on top of Popeye, who says, "It's a good thing it landed on my head, or I would have been hurt."
