I'm not sure what happened with the production, writing or acting. The sound is even weird. That said, it's hard to believe they didn't intentionally try to make such a bad movie. Everything that's bad is further amplified by the run time. I heard the amount raised for this was north of 300k. Where did all that money go? This was a really hard movie to find and review as well. I think they are trying to bury it, because it is that bad. It is very bad. The high praise reviews make no sense to me as this is objectively one of the worst, if not the worst movie I have ever seen. I won't get into spoilers as there isn't much of anything interesting to spoil. The only redeeming quality might be for college film students as a cautionary tale on what not to do.

This movie was not good, pure and simple. I realize these guys are youtubers and not trained actors but the story was horrible. It reminded me of Clerks, if Clerks wasn't funny. I mean, they blatantly stole a joke from Dumb & Dumber in the first 30 min and it only got worse. Even for a low budget crowd funded movie this was just bad 👎

This amateur-hour C-grade film would make a fifth-grade drama class laugh. This is so poorly filmed it's cringe. The story is cheese, the directing is terrible and the acting atrocious. Even the sound is very poor, do they even know what boom mics are. The 101 min runtime dragged out and out with slow pacing and a hollow story with poor attempts at humor. The dialogue was worse than any soap opera. I'm not even sure what the point of this film was. You know a film is terrible when the clearly bogus high reviews are more entertaining. It speaks volumes when the filmmakers don't even have faith in their own film to resort to these sad tactics. Don't waste your time on this nonsense.

I have been a fan for the last 10 years, and this movie had me laughing from start to finish, yes its a indie movie, and yes it shines through on more that one occation, but does it really matter? Dave was really funny in this too, great actor. High five boys!

As a low budget independent film made by 1st time filmmakers its actually pretty good for what it is. The plot is basically a throwback to those cross country adventure films from the 80s, with the best comparison probably being Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.

The plot is well paced and the script mostly works. The comedy is hit or miss, but mostly hits with laughs throughout. The cinematography is shot well. The special effects are better then most independent films. The weakest aspect is probably the acting, but in no way is it bad or hinders the movie.

All in all its a good movie. I think most fans of The Game Chasers will really enjoy it. In reality even those that have never heard of them should get some enjoyment from it. If you temper your expectations and know what you are getting into its well worth the ride.

Wow, looking at anyone giving this a rating of 10, it is clear that it's all coming from either friends, family or their YouTube channel subscribers.

This low budget movie has one of the worst acting I have ever seen, and what makes it worse, is when they started funding for this movie, they were selling it as if they were going to go to a few acting classes, which clearly they did not. Horrendous , laughable acting on display here.

The direction of the movie is terrible, the pacing is straight up garbage. I think it is very clear that they should stay in their lane, but then again, if they have 'blind' YouTube followers willing to give their money for such nonsense, we will probably see another movie, this time, let's hope non of these guys return on camera and they get actual actors.

For this crew's Freshman attempt, they knocked it out of the park! Cinematography and vfx were stellar and The Ghost Getters stole the show! Hilarious and well worth the rewatch.

I will preface this review with the admission that I am a fan of their YouTube content.

That said I was very impressed with the movie. Well shot, impressive acting from a core of amateurs with pros sprinkled throughout, a gripping plot with that trademark Game Chasers comedy. Whilst doing a good job not to exclude any audience members unfamiliar with their online content. I was thouroughly entertained and it reminded me of how I felt after seeing Haggard by the CKY crew.

It excites me that a low budget indy movie can reach such a high quality of production. It makes film making feel accessible again just like it did in the early 2000s.

If you're coming into this movie blind to their YouTube stuff my advice would be to remember that this is a passion project and not a Corporate Hollywood blockbuster.

I'm a longtime sub to their YouTube channel so im not just hating to hate, This movie was a terrible idea from start to finish, These guys put together the most hack clichéd script a movie could possibly have to go along with acting that was so wooden and forced it allows no emotional investment on the part of the viewer with how crummy the scenes are, I enjoy the idea of game hunting but not like this, Should of been about having to find the 10 rarest nes games and each one has a boss who owns it I dunno anything but what they delivered.

The flea market/stores/yard sales is where the movie should have been focused, It's hard to think of anything else left to say about this miserable slog of a film.

This movie was produced with less money than what Hollywood's big budget studios charge for less than a minute of footage. It's almost (if not) a superhuman effort, and Billy's wearing the main cape. A true heart-driven flick that keeps you entertained all throughout, and leaves you with something to think about. The real gift of this movie is that it concentrates well on its tone, and delivery is carried out with great timing; It could only be done by love and knowledge of the craft. Sure, theres minor areas of slight improvements due to it be a smaller production, but it shines bright within the cosmos of movies.

If you see any movie this year, adventures in game chasing is it. It looks like a hollywood release the way billy did the editing and the acting is out of this world. I give this film 2 thumbs way up and recommend it to everyone.

"Adventures in Game Chasing" is a shining example of just how powerful and effective amateur cinema can be. A small budget and limited experience, when coupled with a lot of work and even more heart, can yield astounding results. Nothing was neglected, from writing and acting, to direction and cinematography. It is obvious from the first frame that the film makers took this project just as seriously as a Hollywood production.

The story, on one level, is quite simple. A group of friends on a road trip to recover a long-lost and much-beloved childhood possession, encountering friends and foes, obstacles and adventures along the way. The film can certainly be enjoyed at this level, but there is a much deeper meaning that will speak to anybody who has long since seen their childhood vanish into the past. The object of our hero's quest is not a Nintendo, but what that Nintendo represents. It is a quest to find the simple joy, innocence, and freedom of childhood. It is an attempt to time travel back to a life before worries, bills, and age lines. An effort to recapture a Christmas morning when we were ten years old and opened that sacred gift that we had longed for all year. The Nintendo itself symbolizes all that still resides in our hearts from childhood. The real goal of this wacky scavenger hunt is to reawaken those forgotten feelings within ourselves.

The writing itself is crisp and tight. A lot happens over the course of the film, but it never feels rushed. The dialog feels completely natural. It is easy to imagine the characters saying the same lines in real life. The movie manages to be self-referential, with plenty of inside jokes and familiar cameos, without becoming inaccessible to those viewers who have no previous experience with the Game Chasers and their crew of friends. Those people who are longtime fans will be able to enjoy the movie on a whole different level. In either case, the script has few wasted words and keeps the story on track.

The acting is surprisingly good throughout, with the amateur and first-time performers holding their own against the professionals. I suspect this is the product of a script that caters to the real-life personas of the actors, and a dedication to shooting scenes until the desired result was achieved. Everybody in the cast is given their moment to take center stage and shine. Much of the movie centers on humor, but the cast is able to evoke a high level of emotion when the script calls for it.

The cinematography is one of the strongest points of the movie. From beginning to end, the camera movements, shot planning, lighting, and color grading are on par with a big-budget production. Shot transitions feel natural and flow seamlessly together without distracting from the story. The visual effects are extraordinary for such a limited budget. The film makers made every cent of their effects budget count and did not waste it on unnecessary shots. Knowing when to stop is a tough lesson to learn, but this film does not overplay its hand when it comes to digital effects. Lastly, the sound is very solid, with crisp, clear ambient sound, and a voice track that is not muddy or buried under background noise. The soundtrack itself is warmly nostalgic, both the original compositions and the licensed tracks.

Whether you are already a Game Chasers fanatic or totally new to these two "chodes", I would urge you to give this movie a chance. It is clearly a labor of love that speaks to anybody who longs for the days of Saturday morning cartoons and a bowl of cereal. "Adventures in Game Chasing" is a good!

This movie was a classic throwback to the old 80s adventure movies! Truly the highlight of my weekend, I hope they get to flush out the Ghost Getters story they were the show stealers.

Big fan of the Game Chasers. Their genuine personalities and "good friend sarcastic banter" has always been a big selling point on top of the retro hunt. This movie is more of that in a high quality manner. I didn't see any of the scenes coming a mile away, always kept me engaged to see whats going to happen next. While there are some inside jokes, i think new fans will fall in love with this movie. It has a great message tied into it too that i won't spoil. I'm very glad this movie got made, great job to everyone involved.

The beginning of the movie you get a flash back ,then it goes on to the road trip with some hilarious scenes, I liked the characters ,many great call backs to there YouTube show game chasers. The bad guys in the movie were great. The movie is worth a watch or 3....

This movie hit all the marks for an 80's style romp. This is the first movie for these guys. They knocked it out of the park! Fun for the whole family! Dave was a highlight in his role as the villain. Very Pee Wee's big adventure vibes.

One year as a kid my parents surprised my sister and me with a nes on Christmas. This movie was great from start to finish. Thank you so much for all the hard work and never giving up. And thank you for bringing back all the precious memories of gaming over my life. This movie is truly a gem for any one.

After watching this movie twice I really have come to appreciate the hard work that went into it. This isn't me sucking up to them either. Yes I love the game chasers youtube channel but if you take that away it's still a great movie. If you grew up in the Nintendo Generation you'll totally get it. One day you just wake up and you have to go to work, you have responsibilities, and you never really did what you said you were going to do when you were a kid. And if there was just some way to grasp a little feeling from the past...youre going to do it. This is what Adventure in Game Chasing does. It reminds you of the good times, hanging with friends, getting yourself into what seems like impossible to get out of situations, and even near death experiences that you just kind of shrug off. Is it the best movie in the world and is it going to get an Oscar? No. But thats not the point. It's a love letter, an ode to "The Good Times". When it becomes available...give it a chance.

This movie is exactly what it's supposed to be, dumb, charming, nostalgic and funny, what more could you ask for from some of the silliest game loving maniacs on YouTube. Do yourself a favor and watch this flick, then bust out you NES and remember what it was like to have pure joy in your hands.

Great movie with lots of laughs and memorable moments. If you are a fan of anything like clerks or mallrats then you will truly appreciate the work put into this movie. Highly recommend.

Killer cast, great story, and a bunch of nostalgia goodness.

Also if the director is reading this, your killing it dude. Idk if you hear that enough but man every time you put something out you put smiles on peoples faces. You also continue to inspire me to make my own videos and mini movies. Getting to the point, there are going to be trolls, I know you know that. But don't forget you have an entire fan base in your corner. Keep killing it bro.

The Gamechasers have always been like a best of youtube.

Seeing them pull together crowd funding and make such an amazing and stylistic movie is an incredible story in and of itself and would make a great plot for a second movie.

Everything from the Stan Bush song to the CG intro is fun and kept a constant smile on my face.

There's a really touching story here on top of of a fun road trip movie. If you have fond memories of the NES or are interested in retro game collecting at all this is a must watch.

A fantastic flick by up-and-coming film-makers. A fun romp reminiscent of a classic 80s roadtrip movie, full of laughs and hijinks. I recommend you check this one out!
