The film seems like it's rushed and made by amateurs. Could have been a really good film but they ruined a interesting story of Zenek Martyniuk.

So this is story of Zenon Martyniuk.The godfather of discopolo music...

And to be honest Jakub Zajac performance is worth a watch but only if you're already familiar with depicter artist.

Rest of the movie is poor due to: Script lacks continuity. Many things stays uncleared wile less important at being reported.

Boring disco-polo brainwashing music and the ,,king''of that horror tunes with words and music for simple people who give no efford to see the play, good piece of cinema or read a book. Masacre, do not come close to Zenek and disco polo music.

Stay away, brain damage possible!!! Buy popcorn and run away!!!

Przepraszam but it's terrible. The only thing that sucks more than this movie is Disco Polo itself.

It's probably the worst movie I've ever watched. I've wasted 1h of my life. Only 1h because my eyes and ears were hurting enough after that time and I couldn't take it anymore. Movie is dumb, quality is horrible, not funny, music silly. Person "Zenek" should not be a star, he has no talent whatsoever, and there is no place for movie about someone like him. Do not watch if you a normal, thinking person.

If you've been lately feeling like you have way too many brain cells and are looking for a remedy, look no further. This movie here will successfully deal with your issue.

A terribly boring and quite stupid movie about a miserable italo-disco musician who accidentally gains popularity in Polish villages.

As said previous "Boring disco-polo brainwashing music" and the same kind of movie. Maybe someone like this music - I respect but movie about it with main actor who have doctor title in real life is embarrassing.

I went for this movie for fun. I knew it will be weak but expected to see something like "Polish TV fails in making their Star is born interpretation." The problem is the movue us just do super weak, do super about nothing. I recently read a book about polish Disco Polo and it gave fantastic pictures of a Wild West that was at the Time of transfomation in Poland, mix of politics, luck, Wild changed, mafia and all that. And here there is nothing.

Cool movie. I do not understand why so many negative reviews. Strong for me 8. The film has everything it should have. It's good entertainment for the whole family.

This type of music is not very sublime, but is any country music sophisticated? They have these easy (cheesy?) dance tunes everywhere; Balkans, Greece, Germany... Korea, China. And it's not about the music itself but about becoming a star, about grim reality of communist times in rural areas of eastern Poland and how this new genre of dance music was born. Not so bad, after all.

A nightmare movie about a most stupid part of Polish swamp.

Please give us negative points option! I feel sorry for the actors who thought they will start their careers with a state-sponsored movie... I feel sorry for everyone who had to watch this.

I would rather die than watch this. watching this movie is worse than cancer.

This movie was made based on money of taxpayers and the creators wanted to get it done as soon as possible to release the movie on Feb, 14th The Valentine's Day. When you make a film for that reason then you can get that kind of "clammy" movie where all was planned and created to meet a deadline. This is like a mass production of everyman cars - faat, cheap, with no concept, lack of artistic values. That story is so trashy that even music of the main hero is not present as a viewer might expect and paradoxically it was intended to be a bio movie.

If you want to completely waste 2h of your life and then have a few days headache you should watch this movie. But remember, you can't unwatch it. Total piece of crap!

Somebody should pay me big time for watching this rubbish. stay away

There is a problem with Polish movies. Some of them are about something, which comes with politics. And because of that, people "know" how good the movie is before it comes to cinemas. And Zenek is one of that type of movie. Let say it straight: it is not the best movie. Some scenes are not so bad, showing history of music played in local discos in late 80s, but some (especially in the second part) are bad, very bad. But the biggest problem is, that movie was made by Polish national TV strictly connected with goverment, and that Zenek is also a friend to goverment. In my opinion, that's why movie is so bad in rating. For me it's funny, because I'm not a goverment fan (oh, no...), but the movie is not so bad. Young Zenek played in the first part is interesting, so the situation at the discos are. Further part is not as good, but you can stay alive. I could say, the biggest problem is music, because most of it is well known international music played by local, not very profesional, bands. But, I'm sorry, this is history! It was the situation at the end of People Republic of Poland, how the socialism really works. What did you expect? Oh, you've expected disco polo? Surprise! There is only a little bit of that. If someone tells you, that the movie sucks because of disco polo, he lies. Technically it is also not bad, apart from jumps looking like lost parts of scenario. So: I've seen it and I'm alive. It is not a good movie and I'm not saying: see Zenek. But, for the God's sake, it is also not as bad movie, as some people says. You wanna see a big piece of cheese? See "365 days". In that movie music is better. And nothing more. Believe me, I've seen it too...

A lobotomy is better than this. Do not waste your time and more importantly money on this rubbish. This state funded, waste of tax payers money is an absolute horror and everyone who is thinking of seeing this ask yourself "Do you want to experience the death of your brain cells?"

I found the this movie to be quite well filmed. I'm not a fan of disco polo, however this music genre is a part of Poland whether people like it or not and Zenek is the actual king of this scene.

Those negative reviews on this site seem to be highly biased - negative ratings just because somebody doesn't like this music genre. Unfair really to judge any film in this way.

The other half of reviews was submitted by leftist communists who hate everything that is Polish.

It's not a great film, however it definitely is not a waste of time. It tells a story of a man who created a music genre so unique that most people know lyrics to the songs and once played everybody dances to those on parties! At the same time, most of the people do not admit to ever listen to this music.
