A change of counselors
JordanThomasHall29 May 2019
In doing the camp's books, Cmdr. Wivenhoe finds they're close to bankruptcy and clamps down on all spending. He instructs Camp Cook Malden to use the radish leaves, slice the bread paper thin, give each camper one napkin for three meals, and use water instead of milk on cereal. Mahala May comes to him to ask for a loan and he admits he is in the same shape. They find their biggest expense to be payroll and decide to let some of their counselors go. Malden overhears the plan to let two people go and informs the rest of the men. Spiffy's solution is to choose the two to let go by playing spin the bottle. It falls upon Doc and Spiffy who leave angrily. Each camp receives a telegram from the commissioner of camps (character actor C Lindsay Workman) notifying that he will be arriving the next morning for an inspection. They now fall below the mandated ratio of one counselor for every 10 children. Mahala May and Caprice pretend to be a male counselors. Wivenhoe, Pruitt, and Malden return the favor, posing as female counselors ("Evelyn", "Grace", and "Pruittina") for their inspection. Things seem to be working until the commissioner takes a liking to "Evelyn".
