As an older male, I wasn't expecting to enjoy a coming of age movie about a young girl - so I was surprised when I enjoyed it as much as I did. This movie is really good. The acting was excellent, the plot simple but with enough variation to keep you interested. The pacing was very good and the cinematography also excellent. For me, what puts this movie over the top for enjoyment is how believable the characters are. I highly recommend this movie. Also, the supporting actors were all good. The location is in or around San Antonio, Texas. For animal lovers, there is a turtle and a cow. I also understand the lead girl wrote and sang two songs at the end of the movie and both were very nice. Surprisingly good! This director, Scott Leisk, has a number of other movies that you also may enjoy.
