Where and When It Starts, is Perfect

Warning: Spoilers
Unorthodox starts in an unorthodox way not because it starts in the middle though, some shows do it that way as well. What makes this start very special though is that I as a viewer(and many others I suppose) had no idea about what I was getting into. If I were to summarize my questions throughout the episode it would be like: Okay she is running but why? Which time period are we in, huh seems like near present. Why Germany, haaa ok. Finding the answers to these questions was a joy and Shira Haas plays a huge role in that. She captures the essence of the character perfectly. There are lots of flashbacks but I wouldn't really consider them a flashback, they are a storyline on their own. It is a common way to explain a character when the character in present self-contained is.

While it is a great 1st part, it isn't a masterpiece nor it is very memorable(not including the scene in the lake, which was amazing). But overall the first part set up the setting, establised an intriguing conflict(which as I mentioned, was established before the setting), and left enough questions marks in my mind to continue with the serie.
