Mean-spirited approach
lor_4 June 2019
I don't like the work (so far) of Digital Playground's director Vic Lagina, and "Wedding Belles" only amplifies this reaction. It takes a very sour look at getting married, presumably aiming for black humor but failing badly.

Casey Calvert and Abigail Mac plan a double wedding, but it becomes clear early on that neither one is too keen on getting married at all. The logical conclusion as the lengthy video trudges on is that they should marry each other, but unfortunately this is not a project for Sweetheart Video or Girlfriends Films.

So arrangements are made for Abby to tie the knot with Justin Hunt while Casey will be spliced with Connor Kennedy, neither of them very appealing (to this viewer at least). Making matters worse is the decision to make Brandon Ashton their best man, he being one of the least talented porn actors in memory.

Lagina emphasizes untenable plot twists, which I won't reveal here as spoilers, one of which is crucial to his film's structure and a massive groaner when finally and tardily revealed. The sex scenes are clumsily staged, hardly up to the standards of this label before it got merged into something like Brazzers Lite a few years back.

Stealing the show are the bridesmaids, well-played by Adria Rae and an actress who I'm not familiar with but who takes breast in show: Ashley Anderson. Along for the ride is much-tattooed Anna Bell Peaks as Abby's mom, a most unlikely casting given the mere 7-year spread in their real ages.

Notably poor are the bachelorette party orgy -clumsy in the extreme, and the ridiculously bad direction of extras for the outdoor wedding scene, in which these uncredited NonSex atmosphere players make faces and are distracting, almost a blooper reel left in the finished product.
